Finally, I have found a way of installing ParaDOS ROM in my CPC 664, I tried to use Rombo Rom box & Super Power Rom Card, but both of them didn't work on my CPC 664, and I have a spare ParaDOS ROM, I was planning to sell it on ebay, as no point of keeping ParaDOS ROM only which I have no spare CPC series computers or DDI-1 drives with interfaces to install it on to.

Suddenly, as soon when I woke up with Amstrad CPC computers / accessories lying down on the floor, an idea just popped up in my mind, remembering how I remove the AMSDOS ROM and replace it with ParaDOS ROM in DDI-1 interface. It has a socket for removing and replacing different ROM chips. Then, I was thinking to myself.... Wait a minute! Let's see I can do the same thing on CPC 664.

So, I opened the CPC 664 case by removing seven screws, BINGO!!! It has a DIL Socket 28-Pin (Maplin ref no: BL21X, which it costs now 34p each, previously it was cost about 14p each) with AMSDOS ROM installed top of the socket on the motherboard, similar to DDI-1 interface with the letters "FDD-ROM" next to it. I was very pleased, so I remove the AMSDOS chip with "AMSTRAD 40015 7293-1951 8502AAA" printed on top of the ROM chip, and I replaced it with my spare ParaDOS ROM chip - Thursday 23rd June 2005 09:40.

I closed the case and switched on my CPC 664 to see what happens, it says "PARADOS V1.0. ©1993 QUANTUM Computing" on the screen, it worked perfectly!! So, I switched off my CPC 664 and put all seven screws back on. Now, I can format 792k on each 3.5" discs or loading games from previous 792k formatted disks.
Unfortunately, it won't you run Logo2 on CP/M 2.2 disk, as it gives you an error message: "Retry (R), Ignore (I) or Cancel (C), if you press the "R" key to retry, it causes your computer crashed, as it needed the AMSDOS ROM to load logo2 from AMSDOS, but who cares, as I don't like using CP/M 2.2 or Logo2, anyways.
