The [[CRTC]] should be more or less same as those used in CPCs.
* The handbook and schematic say the CRTC is a CM 607.
* Other people say: "I think the KC compact has a HD6845S The CRTC. This used is a type 0 and is the most compatible for demosHD6845P."* The text on the photo of the PCB is too blurred to say anything, except that it is definetly NOT a HD6845S, nor a CM 607 (so far, it is '''unknown''' what kind of CRTC(s) is (or are) used in the KC Compact)
The CIO *could* be used to re-program the resolution. (see CIO description below)
