It was coded by [[DJL|David Looker]]. It is rumoured that one level was running and a larger sized cartridge would be required, but Ocean said "no".
Recently [[Retro Gamer]] issue 126 (believed to be Load 126 - March 2014 in the ) had an article 'The Amstrad CPC Games That Time Forgot') in ''[[Retro Gamer]]'' magazine which had a small section on Toki and there was a picture screenshot of some monkey sprites that are from the GX4000 versionmain character sprites.
[[GGP]] announced in 2019 that they were developing a conversion of ''Toki'' for the Amstrad CPC. It was eventually released on 29th October 2022 and was rated 88% by ''Retro Gamer'' in issue 241.
