Tai-Pan is a 1986 game by Ocean., based on the 1966 novel Tai-pan by James Clavell (which had been turned into a 1986 movie) and probably influenced by the 1982 Apple II game Taipan!.

The game is about trading tea, jade, and silk in the China Seas (northeast of and including Hong Kong) in the 1840s. Like the later Pirates!, it can be played in a variety of ways, e.g. either as a mostly peaceful trader or as a pirate.
