Description

8bit Printer Port mods from german magazine Happy Computer (Schneider Sonderheft):

  • Happy Computer - Schneider Sonderheft Nr.1 (2/1985) - original DIY for 464
  • Happy Computer - Schneider Sonderheft Nr.3 (4/1986) - original DIY for 664/6128
  • PC Amstrad International (issue 8/9'91, page 69-70) - remake of the Happy Computer DIY
  • KC Compact - CPC clone with built-in Happy Computer-style 8bit printer port

Technical

Disconnect the Printer D7 pin from ground, and wire it to the PIOs Tape WR DATA pin instead (That is, Pin 12 of the 8255 chip). That's all about it. No idea why the magazine needed 5 sheets of paper to describe that circuit.
