The Dbase II package

dBase II is a powerfull and popular database for the Amstrad CPC, runs under CP/M by Asthon Tate.

dBase II was the first widely used database management system for microcomputers, published by Ashton-Tate for CP/M, and later for other OS where it and its successors dBase III and dBase IV (there was no dBase I) became one of the best-selling software titles for a number of years.

Starting in the mid 1980s many other companies produced their own dialects or variations on the product and language.
