The application part of the program. Orion and Sirius (far left) are visible in this horizon plot. Only the brightest stars are plotted (selection mode 1).
Teaching module with the constellation Orion selected

Star Watcher is an observer's guide to the stars by Amsoft/Triptych Publishing.

In Spain was distributed by Indescomp with the name : Mirando a las Estrellas.

This software has two parts:

  • The teaching program, which teaches the appearance of the constellations.
  • The applications program, which displays the stars of the night (or day) sky for any given date and location.

The Star Watcher database includes stars up to magnitude 5.5, but there is a feature to limit the number of plotted stars either by magnitude or by constellation.
