The Star Trek Sample Demo (STSD) was one of the first demonstration programs of some capabilities of FutureOS. It was made to demonstrate:
- Loading speed from disc
- Expansion RAM management
- Digiblaster Sound Output
To run properly, it needs:
- FutureOS
- 512 KB of expansion RAM
- Digiblaster
Technic
The STSD loads a 416 KB sample file (22 seconds from disc, 5 seconds from HD20 hard-disc), then the sample is played at 14 MHz. The sample itself is 8 bit deep. It's release date was around 1992.
