AWA were the Australian Amstrad distributor from initial CPC launch till around 1988 when Amstrad set up office in Australia.<br>
So early 464 & 6128's had "Awa" on startup/reset & later just the usual "Amstrad". All Australian delivered 664's had "Awa" on startup.<br><br>The Australian variant is much less known than the German variant (which displays [[Schneider]] in the boot message, and which alsohas<br>has a Schneider logo on the keyboard).<br><br>
The Awa's were mentioned at [http://amstrad.cpc.free.fr/article.php?sid=13 amstrad.cpc.free.fr], and, confirmed in [http://cpcwiki.eu/forum/index.php/topic,680.msg7949.html#msg7949 cpcwiki.eu/forum] (where, two australian users replied, one saying ,
:''"I just checked both my CPC464s and they show Awa 64K Microcomputer - I've never noticed that before"'',
