Discussion

Revision as of 12:12, 4 September 2006 by Prodatron (Talk | contribs) (The complete I/O map for the CPC)

For discussions about the Main Page and the Side Bar please use the Main page disussion page page.
For suggestions of completely new sections and features, please use the Suggestions page.

  • For older talks please have a look at the Archive.

Hello! Thus is the discussion page. Thought it'd be useful to have something of the sort. Just enter your comments or suggestions, but for new entries always use the headline feature ('== Headline =='). New entries must always be appended at the end of the page. And you can reply to comments by using a ':' or '::' or ':::' the deeper you go...

Category "News"

If we start to add the news to own categories we should avoid naming the news article with "News:" as prefix, because in the category listing everything would appear under the letter 'N'. The same problem occurs with programming articles (prefix "Programming:"). Maybe we should remove the prefix from this articles? --Octoate 10:12, 28 August 2006 (CEST)

Uh, good question... Somehow I like these prefixes, and as there are already sorted lists we even don't need the categories at all, but on the other hand you are also right. Don't know... -- Prodatron 13:59, 28 August 2006 (CEST)
I think we should keep the prefixes at least for the news, as the titles of this pages are not terms but small summary like sentences. -- Prodatron 16:49, 1 September 2006 (CEST)

Discussion, Suggestions, Main Page Talk

Now we have:

In the sidebar, "discussion page" is the main page talk, on the main page "discussion" is the discussion page. Maybe we should clean this up a little bit or create some definitions, what to write where? -- Prodatron 22:32, 29 August 2006 (CEST)

I moved general discussion stuff from the Main Page talk page to the two existing pages Discussion and Suggestions and added some messages describing the rules. I still wonder, if it makes sense to split up "discussion" and "suggestions"? -- Prodatron 19:44, 2 September 2006 (CEST)

Linking to WIKIPEDIA

currently the tag Template:Wikipedia doesnt seem to work howcome... It does over at C64 Wiki :-) --CPCLER 18:34, 1 September 2006 (CEST)

Mmmm..... can you give an example? Gryzor 20:41, 1 September 2006 (CEST)
Yep.. over at The C64 WIKI under section LINK. OK i could just link directly!!! But.....
Sorry, I can't follow?! This template doesn't exist yet at all and what do we have to do with the links in the C64 Wiki? -- Prodatron 12:44, 2 September 2006 (CEST)
Yup, confirmed. Am trying to figure it out - sorry for the lack of support lately, I've been so busy at work I can merely glance at it usually... Gryzor

Categories

Please remember about adding proper category for new articles(I'm not without fault here), as it allows much easier cataloging of similar articles.--Torn 17:56, 3 September 2006 (CEST)

Sorry about that Torn!!...
Hehe, You don't have to. Categories are only for the readers' convinience, they aren't some kind of "Wiki-law".;) And even if the were, I'm in no position to enforce them. :P --Torn 14:39, 4 September 2006 (CEST)
I always forget to add the categories in the initial article and have to edit it again, but I think it's quite important to have them. -- Prodatron 19:11, 4 September 2006 (CEST)

Why cant i upload MP3 files

Seems i cant upload MP3 files.. I want to add some speech examples of the SPO256 and MEA8000 chips!

Yeah, and also PNG, ZIP and others. The problem is known already, and Gryzor is working on it...--Torn 14:39, 4 September 2006 (CEST)

The complete I/O map for the CPC

How do people think about making a complete list of what devices is using which addresses in the I/O map? --Ygdrazil 15:22, 4 September 2006 (CEST)

Great idea! --Octoate 15:34, 4 September 2006 (CEST)
Indeed, this would be extremely useful. This is, how it looks for the MSX: Portar MSX Tech Doc. But a short overview would be fine for the beginning. I can make a first step and paste TFMs I/O list here. -- Prodatron 16:18, 4 September 2006 (CEST)
