Ace of Aces is a 1987 arcade-oriented flight sim by U.S. Gold. The player flies a RAF Mosquito long range fighter-bomber over Europe. Targets include German fighter planes, bombers, V-1 flying bombs, U-boats, and trains.
For the CPC, this game was also available on the Solid Gold compilation, together with Winter Games, Gauntlet, Infiltrator, and Leaderboard.
All in all not a very good port though, the graphics are fairly slow and the sound effects not that great either. Rescue on Fractalus! uses a similar approach to terrain rendering, but is otherwise a far more fluid and playable game than Ace of Aces.
