GIS (General Information Systems) was established in December 1985 by Christopher Curry (who was the founder of Acorn Computers in 1978) and Ron van der Hoorn.
In 1987 they produced the Red Box home control system for ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC.
Nowadays, the company specialises in Smartcard based products for both contact and contactless applications.
