Genesis8 is the code name of Emmanuel Roussin.

Genesis8 is also the name of the french BBS dedicated to Amstrad run by Emmanuel.

When the internet began to be more accessible, Genesis8 created a public anonymous FTP, including lots of stuff about Amstrad: demos, music, and so on. The FTP service was hosted at IBP (Institut Blaise Pascal, ftp.ibp.fr) that became LIP6 (Laboratoire Informatique de Paris 6).

In 1995, the mirror of Genesis8 was small enough to fit on a 100Mo Zip disk; in 2008, the mirror fits in 319Mb (compressed).

Genesis8 is also the "chairman" of the newsgroup: Comp.sys.amstrad.8bit
